  • Who is CrossFit for?

"The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience".

CrossFit "delivers a fitness that is by design, broad, general and inclusive. Our specialty is not specialising. Combat, survival, many sports and life reward this kind of Fitness". (Coach Glassman, CrossFit Co-Founder)

"Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports".

Getting Started

Which CrossFit Gym Should I Train At? It is important to understand that CrossFit is not a franchise and the service that you receive will differ from one CrossFit gym to the next.  Trainer experience/education, equipment and size of facility are all important factors in choosing the right gym.  Even if we are not your closest affiliate, we encourage you to try us out as a comparison and we are confident that the level of service provided will make it worth the extra few minutes drive each day.

Getting started with Coastal CrossFit is easy.  You do not need to be fit or have any prior training experience to get involved.  Our client base includes retired Grandmas, ex-NRL Footballers and everything in between.  The common bond between all of our athletes is that they gain satisfaction from improving their physical ability.

One of the first things you are likely to notice is that we don’t look like a modern franchise gym. We don’t have any machines or treadmills and there are no mirrors on the wall. We prefer to use our bodies in the way they evolved by employing functional, real life movements.  At Coastal CrossFit we train hard, we sweat, we know each other by first name and we share a camerarderie more like that of a sporting team than a ‘modern’ gym.

To find out more, simply give us a call (1300 654 775) and organise a time to drop in and have a chat with one of our trainers.  You are welcome to observe or participate in an obligation free session prior to starting.  We are sure you find the atmosphere friendly and welcoming.

Once you have decided to start; simply book a time to complete your familiarisation session/s and then you are ready to train.  The familiarisation session will teach you the foundational movements of CrossFit and costs $50.00.  This $50.00 fee will be deducted from your first months training as soon as you start.
