  • Who is CrossFit for?

"The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience".

CrossFit "delivers a fitness that is by design, broad, general and inclusive. Our specialty is not specialising. Combat, survival, many sports and life reward this kind of Fitness". (Coach Glassman, CrossFit Co-Founder)
  • World Class Fitness in 100 Words

"Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports".

Gym Rules

With the growth we have experienced in recent times it is important that we set some basic gym rules. We enjoy the social nature that CrossFit promotes and don’t wish to spoil it, however our primary focus will always be on quality training and we need your support for that to continue.

1. Be on time: Please be present and ready to start the warm-up at the designated start time.  It is important that you are there on time in order to receive the necessary information for the WOD and to participate in the entire warm-up.  Furthermore, plan to stay for the entire session.  Aside from stretching, the end of the session is a time where coaching points can be reviewed and general information can be relayed.

2. Session Change Over: Please ensure that the previous session has finished prior to making your way into the training area.  If you are early, please feel free to grab a skipping rope etc. and practice outside.

3. Don’t talk when instructions are being given: We don’t believe that anyone that is talking is being intentionally rude, but it happens quite a lot.  When a trainer is giving instructions please cease your chat.  The movements we perform are technical at times and large loads are often moved.  If you are not aware of a critical instruction due to inattention, you are more likely to injure yourself or someone else.

4. Please Park in the designated car parks: Our car park is shared with several other businesses in the complex.  During business hours please only park in the car parks numbered with 13 otherwise there is plenty of parking on the street.

We love the encouraging atmosphere and camaraderie in the gym and we want that to continue.  Let’s work together to ensure that all of your fitness goals continue to be achieved and exceeded at Coastal CrossFit QLD.

Thanks,

Chris & Marie.
