  • Who is CrossFit for?

"The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience".

CrossFit "delivers a fitness that is by design, broad, general and inclusive. Our specialty is not specialising. Combat, survival, many sports and life reward this kind of Fitness". (Coach Glassman, CrossFit Co-Founder)
  • World Class Fitness in 100 Words

"Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports".

 CF Games Flyer

Registration has opened for the QLD Sectional Qualifying event for the CrossFit Games.  This is the first step in the process for a chance to represent Australasia at the International CrossFit Games; help in Aromas California in July.  All CrossFitters interested in competition are encouraged to attend as it will be an awesome day.

The top 20 males and females from the QLD Sectional Qualifier will then battle it out at CFX in Sydney for one of three (male and female) Australasian spots in the CrossFit Games.   For those not wanting to compete, there is always the option of being a spectator or better yet volunteering to help with the running of the day.  For more information check out – http://games2010.crossfit.com/ and  http://www.crossfitbrisbane.com/

Oooh, Drummond… can’t wait to see how your abs are tomorrow!! 150 GHD situps!! Madness.

      Nice work Marie!

  2. Sue: I highly recommend that you register for the QLD Sectional Qualifier. I think you have a good chance to make it into the top 20. Let me know if you need any more info or help with registration. Chris.

  3. Rach V says:

I agree with Chris Sue – you should give it a go!

Glen great job on Rxd today! And Mark – very impressive squat cleans first attempt. There was a great feel in the box this am – it was a pleasure training with you all.

All of you who will train tonight can I offer a piece of advice… go as heavy as you can. Otherwise you will get to the end and know you could’ve gone heavier and kick yourself. I know I am! Remember – adrenalin kicks in on 3,2,1 GO!!

  4. Glen says:

Rach, I wouldn’t be too disappointed, 40kg would have been close to an rxd female weight… Looking at the Brisbane results, there weren’t that many who did over 40kg, including the males.

Thanks for your advice on the sit ups… Half way through I thought that I might be able to pip you, but your just too quick on your situps and you have tremendous stamina.

Katie… Great job today… How good does it feel knowing that you battled through to the end?

    • Rach V says:

Hmm, thanks Glen. But I learned an important lesson this am… lacking confidence in squat cleans after a 5 month break from cleaning more than the bar and being too slow in my warmup – I was happy to accept 40kg as the traditional “Girls Rxd” weight even tho only 60kg was written on the board. So yes – I “Rx’d” the WoD given the one-time girls Rx’d weight but to whose standard?? Not to my capability and not to the new thinking that only sets one weight standard not a male / female. Instead I allowed myself to settle for a weight that I thought was “good enough”. But hey as I have said before hind sight is a wonderful thing! What is most important is my next decision in the same circumstance! I’m just being brutally honest with myself Glen! :)

  5. Adam Pieper says:

    WOD RAAF AMBERLEY

    peeps: 10.13 (40kg)
dom: 11.15 (30kg) mod, 10,8,6,4,2, deadlift and front squats.

  6. Katie says:

Glen your right I felt awsome afterwards and really wish I could have finished it.
Thanks for the encouragement and support.
I can hardly walk without my stomach screaming at me in pain tonight I am sure tomorrow it will feel even better!
