  • World Class Fitness in 100 Words

    "Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports".

    For anyone who needs accommodation for the sectionals in Brisbane on the 6th March, Novotel Brisbane will do us a rate of $119 per night instead of $199 per night. If you are interested, then email me at manager@grandmercuretwinwaters.com.au and I can make a booking for you (you can cancel later if you need to, as long as we give them 24 hours notice).

    Lets get as many down to Brisbane as possible to cheer on the Coastal Crossfit athletes.

      Thanks Sue! Must say it’s all due to Rach making me feel quilty for wanting to use the band…the look I got was one of…oh stop making excuses…it obviously worked….THANKS RACH!!!!!

      Nice work on the pull ups Marie I should have checked your numbers before the WOD It would have given me more of a goal, no point hunting Rach down, but will definitely have to keep an eye on Deniece, she is getting really good. Just remind me again as to WHY you are not doing the sectionals? You are right up there, I will look forward to you bringing it to the box!

    To pee or not to pee. That is the question.

    Tried elastaplast. Allergic. Tried Micropore. Not strong enough. Tried bandages. Looked like Mummy. Tried bizzare rubber grip pads courtesy of the good people at Nike. There’s $25 I wont get back. Tried gloves. Got blisters worse than ever and a number from a nipple twister called Barry who wants to date me.

    If I’m Wyle E Koyote, then pull ups are my Road Runner. Ive checked the AMCE box of tricks, and Urine is next on the list. In the words of the late Bohdi (from Point Break), ‘if you want the ultimate, you’ve got to be willing to pay the ultimate price’.

    Im now downing several litres of water to build up my reserves. Then Im gunna sting my open blisters with yellow rain. The Road Runner will be mine.
