  • World Class Fitness in 100 Words

    "Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports".

12 minutes to work to a heavy Power Clean & Push Jerk

then…

Working minute on minute off for five rounds; complete as many “touch and go” Power Clean & Push Jerks 60kg (40kg) as possible.  During the minute on, you may rest with the bar in any position other than the ground.  If you rest or dump the bar before the minute is finished, your attempt is over for that round.

Great work on Friday and Saturday to everyone who is competing in the CrossFit Open.  There was a great competition atmosphere in the gym – lets keep it going for the whole five weeks.

Please remember that it is your responsibility as an athlete to submit your score to the CrossFit Games website so that we can verify it from out end.  If you forget to do this by the cut off (Sunday afternoon) then your effort will be wasted.

We will be publishing a list of names on Sunday afternoon that have not yet appeared for validation.  If your name is on the list, (even if you think you have submitted) it means that it has not shown up at our end.

Movement Standard:
Your chest and hips must touch the ground at the bottom of the movement and both of your hand must touch a target 6 inches above your standing reach at the top of the movement.

Please feel free to come and participate even if you’re not competing officially. Friends and family welcome.

CrossFit Open: Workout 1

Complete as many reps as possible in 7 minutes of:

Burpees

This workout begins from the standing position. The Athlete will move from flat on the ground to touching an object with both hands that is 6 inches above their max reach. Score is total reps completed.


Movement Standards

Burpee
At the bottom position, the Athlete’s chest and hips must touch the ground. At the top of the movement, both hands must make contact with the target 6 inches above your max reach.
